Rosemont Reminder
Residency with Melrene Saloy-Eaglespeaker
Last week, Rosemont School was incredibly fortunate to welcome Melrene Saloy-Eaglespeaker for a week-long residency with our students and staff.
Throughout the week, every class in the school had the opportunity to learn from Melrene as she shared her gifts as an established beader, designer, and artisan. Drawing from her family’s Blackfoot teachings and beading traditions, Melrene guided students through meaningful cultural learning experiences while creating beautiful handmade projects including talking sticks, cradle babies, mini drums, medallion necklaces, and safety pin headdresses. We are deeply grateful that she shared her time, knowledge, creativity, and culture with our school community.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to the Rosemont School Council and the Rosemont Fundraising Society for generously supporting and funding this wonderful experience for our students. Opportunities like this create lasting memories and meaningful learning that our students will carry with them for years to come.
Thank you, Melrene, for inspiring our students and enriching our school community.
