International Walk to School Day October 7, 2026

International Walk to School Day gives children, parents, teachers and the community an opportunity to be part of a global event as they celebrate the many benefits of walking. In 2011, millions of children, parents, and community leaders from 40 countries around the world joined together in celebration of International Walk to School Day in October. We know that many of our students and families already walk to school on a daily basis already. However, if this is not part of your normal routine, we encourage you to try to fit this into your schedule on Wednesday.

Terry Fox Run Rosemont School

Our Terry Fox Run was a success. Thank you to all the student leaders in grade 3 who worked to promote Terry's Dream through the campaign and with our assembly.  We were fortunate to have Willa Marshall, an official Terry Fox ambassador to join us for the assembly this year.  Due to our special guest, the run was held in our school yard, with great support from our school community. We are already planning to incorporate more noise makers at next year's run!

It’s not too late to donate to our Terry Fox School fundraising campaign. So far, we’ve raised $924 online and will be adding our Toonies for Terry total soon to our overall total. If you are still wishing to donate, please do so at: https://schools.terryfox.ca/136221

Artist Highlight

Hi everyone!  My name is Kristine Zingeler and I am an artist and a Rosemont parent who has been volunteering in my kid's classes since they were in kindergarten.  I have children in Grade 1 and Grade 4.  I would normally lead the class in a small art project once or twice a year but this year is going to be a little different.  With the support of the administration at Rosemont I will be leading a more in depth exploration in clay with the entire school, culminating in a school wide project. More details will come but I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and invite everyone to an exhibition to see some of my work in person. I have a two person art show opening on October 17h at Herringer Kiss Gallery.  I will be showing new ceramic sculptures along with a series of photographs.  The opening is from 2:00-5:00 and everyone is welcome.  Come down and say hello!  The exhibition runs until November 21st.
