Welcome Back to the 2026-2027 School Year!

Welcome back, Rosemont families! We did it! Day One is officially in the books!

It was such a joy to see so many smiling students and parents this morning. The first day of school always brings a wonderful mix of excitement and a few butterflies, but it was lovely to watch those nerves quickly fade as students settled into their classrooms, reconnected with friends, and got to know their teachers.

Thank you for your patience, support, and trust as we navigated a truly memorable first day together. We are so excited about the year ahead and look forward to all the learning, growth, and fun that awaits our Rosemont community!

Here’s to a fantastic 2026-2027 school year!

Safety Reminder: Traffic & Parking

As we settle into the new school year, we would like to remind everyone of the importance of following the parking and traffic guidelines around the school. Your cooperation helps keep our students safe and ensures that drop-off and pick-up times run as smoothly as possible.

Parking & Stopping

  • Staff Parking: Staff parking is reserved for CBE staff throughout the day, including drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Bus Loading Zone: Please do not park or stop in the bus loading/unloading areas. These spaces need to remain clear so buses can operate safely.
  • Bend Before the Alley: Please avoid stopping in this area, as it needs to remain clear for buses to turn safely.

Walking

  • Use Designated Paths: Students should not walk through the parking lot.
  • Crosswalks Only: Please use the designated crosswalks when crossing the street or parking areas.

Helpful Hints

  • Walk or bike to school whenever possible.
  • Consider parking a little farther away and walking to help reduce congestion around the school.
  • If you are arranging for your child to meet you at a designated pick-up spot, please make that plan ahead of time. For younger students, please email their teacher to confirm the plan.

Thank you for helping us keep our school grounds safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone. Your cooperation makes a big difference!

Litter-less Lunch

If your child will be staying at school for lunch, they must be registered for our supervised lunch program, which is a fee-based service for families.

Please follow the registration link provided by the school or log into your MyCBE account to complete the registration process.

As in previous years, Rosemont will be participating in our Litter-less Lunch program. Students will be asked to take home all lunch waste in their lunch kits. This initiative helps us reduce waste while also giving families a helpful glimpse into what their child is eating at school each day.

Thank you for helping us make this initiative a success!

2026-2027 Student Health Plan Forms

If your child requires medication at school or has a physical or medical condition that may affect their attendance, please ensure that a Student Health Plan form is completed.

A few important reminders:

  • We are unable to provide medication to students unless the appropriate form is on file. This includes inhalers required for asthma and EpiPens required for anaphylaxis due to serious allergies.
  • A new form must be completed each school year.
  • All medications must be stored in the main office, rather than in your child's backpack. This includes inhalers.
  • If you would like a paper copy of the form sent home with your child, please contact the office.

The form may also be downloaded from the CBE website.

Bus Students - Change of Plans

To help our staff with bus attendance and dismissal at the end of the school day, we kindly ask families to let the office know if there is a change to your child's usual transportation plans.

If your child will be walking, biking, being picked up, or otherwise not taking the bus, please make sure the office is aware. You may also come directly to the bus line at dismissal to let our staff know.

Thank you for helping us ensure that every student is accounted for and gets home safely. Your communication helps make dismissal time smooth and secure for everyone.

Transportation Registration

Families are able to register for school bus service for the 2026-2027 school year through their MyCBE account.

If you do not already have a MyCBE account, please use the CBE's instructions for creating an account.

Please note that families who register after the June 8 deadline may need to wait until mid-October before transportation becomes available for their child.

Scooter & Bike Safety Reminder

A quick reminder that, for the safety of all students, bikes, skateboards, and scooters may not be ridden on school grounds during school hours.

We ask that students walk their bikes or scooters once they reach the school premises, beginning at the bottom of the hill. This helps us maintain a safe environment for everyone as students arrive and leave school each day.

Please also provide your child with a tire lock so that bikes and scooters can be securely locked at the bike racks located at the front of the school.

Thank you for helping us reinforce this important safety expectation with your child!

School Orientation

Save the Date: Thursday, September 10

We are excited to welcome families to an upcoming classroom orientation!

Teachers will share information about the year ahead, including classroom routines and plans, exciting opportunities such as field trips, updates about the new curriculum, and other important information to help families feel connected and informed.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Orange Shirt Day - Tuesday, September 29

Please join us in wearing orange on Tuesday, September 29.

Students will spend time learning about the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system. This learning will help students understand the significance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, recognized on Wednesday, September 30, and provide an opportunity to honour Indigenous peoples and communities.

Emergency Lunches

If your family is experiencing food insecurity or you are struggling to provide a lunch for your child, please reach out to the school office. We are here to support you, and we will ensure that your child receives a healthy lunch each school day.

Rosemont School is grateful to be supported by Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids, who provide healthy lunches to our school twice each week.

Please know that reaching out for support is always okay. We are here for our students and families.

Lunch Supervision Service Fee

The Noon Hour Supervision fee applies to students in Grades 1 through 6 who stay at school for lunch.

Please log into your MyCBE account to register your child for this service. If you need assistance with registration or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the school office. We are happy to help!

Concerned That You Cannot Afford to Pay School Fees?

We want all Rosemont families to know that no child is denied access to an education at the CBE because of their family's inability to pay fees.

The CBE offers a Central Fee Waiver, based on family income, which may cover the following central fees:

  • Yellow School Bus Transportation
  • Noon Hour Supervision Service
  • Student Supplies Fee

Please log into your MyCBE account to complete the current Central Fee Waiver Application. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the school office and we will be happy to support you through the process.

A Wonderful Year Ahead!

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. We are so grateful to have such a caring and connected school community and are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and celebrating together.

Wishing all of our Rosemont families a fantastic first week of school!
