School Orientation

Teachers will share information about the year ahead, including classroom routines and plans, exciting opportunities such as field trips, updates about the new curriculum, and other important information to help families feel connected and informed.

Annual Volunteer Registration

Reminder: Annual Volunteer Registration Required for All School Volunteers

To ensure the safety and security of CBE students and staff, all volunteers must be registered with the school each school year before participating in volunteer activities.

The Annual Volunteer Registration Form is valid for the current school year only. All volunteers, including returning volunteers, must complete a new registration form each school year before participating in volunteer activities.

Process

Parents and guardians can register as volunteers through the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. As part of the registration process, all volunteers must review the POPA requirements and sign to indicate their agreement with the conditions outlined in the form.

New This Year

Community members who do not have a child registered with CBE must complete their volunteer registration in person at the school where they wish to volunteer.

This change allows school staff to verify that volunteers have reviewed and acknowledged their privacy obligations under Alberta's Protection of Privacy Act (POPA).

2026–2027 Student Health Plan Forms

If your child requires medication at school or has a physical or medical condition that may affect their attendance, please ensure that a Student Health Plan form is completed.

Important Reminders

• We are unable to provide medication to students unless the appropriate form is on file. This includes inhalers required for asthma and EpiPens required for anaphylaxis due to serious allergies.
• A new form must be completed each school year.
• All medications must be stored in the main office rather than in your child's backpack. This includes inhalers.
• If you would like a paper copy of the form sent home with your child, please contact the office.

Alberta Education Early Years Assessments

Beginning September 14, students across Alberta will participate in the mandatory Alberta Education Early Years Assessments.

These assessments provide valuable information about students' current literacy and numeracy skills and help teachers plan instruction to best support student learning.

This year, all Grade 4 and 5 students, along with students in Grades 1–3, will complete both the Literacy and Numeracy Assessments.

The assessments are designed to be low-pressure and will take place during regular instructional time at school.

Dressing for the Weather

With cooler temperatures and rain in this week's forecast, please ensure your child comes to school dressed for changing weather conditions.

A rain jacket, suitable footwear, and extra layers will help students stay comfortable during outdoor recess and lunch breaks.

Thank you for helping your child arrive prepared, ready to learn, and enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine!

Orange Shirt Day

Tuesday, September 29

Please join us in wearing orange on Tuesday, September 29.

Students will spend time learning about the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system. This learning will help students understand the significance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, recognized on Wednesday, September 30, and provide an opportunity to honour Indigenous peoples and communities.

Noon Hour Supervision Service Fee

The Noon Hour Supervision fee applies to students in Grades 1 through 6 who stay at school for lunch.

Please log into your MyCBE account to register your child for this service.

Concerned That You Cannot Afford to Pay School Fees?

We want all Rosemont families to know that no child is denied access to an education at the CBE because of their family's inability to pay fees.

The CBE offers a Central Fee Waiver, based on family income, which may cover the following central fees:

• Yellow School Bus Transportation
• Noon Hour Supervision Service
• Student Supplies Fee

Please log into your MyCBE account to complete the current Central Fee Waiver Application.
