Carnaval is Two Sleeps Away
Today we had our kick-off assembly for the Rosemont Winter Carnaval. Float winners were announced and celebrated. The floats were amazing, with over 40 entries. Division Two students in Grade 5/6 have created stations for the fun on Wednesday, and presented them to the student body. Songs were sung in French and PomPom, our Rosemont Carnaval made an appearance. Students received an effigy from last year’s Quebec Winter Carnaval to wear on their jacket zipper and many are excited to add this to their collection.
We are all hoping for warmer temperatures and a bright sun for Wednesday. We plan to be outside if the temperature is warmer than -20. Please ensure your child is dressed for success, with proper attire and footwear. Alternative plans are ready if we must remain inside. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact Ms. McLean directly at rjmclean@cbe.ab.ca , if you have not already done so. Inside or out, extra hands are appreciated.
School Patrols Update
As the cold weather settles in, this is a reminder that if the temperature is colder than -19°C with wind chill, there will be no patrols that day. Also, just a reminder that if your child is scheduled to be on patrols that day, patrol shifts go from 8:55am - 9:10am in the morning and 3:50pm - 4:05 pm after school.
School Update | School Development Plan (SDP)
Each year, our school prepares a development plan with input from teachers, school staff, students, and parents. We review many sources of data, including report cards, provincial achievement test results and school surveys. Based on this information, we create our plan identifying targeted areas for growth. Our school development plan is not meant to represent all the work that takes place in our school, but rather it focuses on specific areas for improvement.
