This helps prevent the spread of illness and ensures a quicker recovery for your child. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school community healthy and safe.

Rosemont School Winter Carnaval

Preparations have begun for our Rosemont School Winter Carnaval on February 12. Division 2 will be planning and supervising stations, we will have the 4th annual float competition, PomPom will be in attendance, students are learning songs and related vocabulary to prepare for the event.

The Float Competition is an opportunity for families to become involved from home this long weekend.  All students are welcome to create a unique float to enter for the contest. The requirements are below:

  • Float cannot be larger than a shoebox, but can be as tall as you'd like
  • Can be any school appropriate theme
  • Must have your name(s) and room number

Floats will be judged on originality and presentation.  Prizes will be awarded in several themes, including best Carnaval sports, movies, most creative, most eye-popping and best construction.

Students are asked to bring their floats to the display area set up in the front of the office not later than Wednesday, February 5 to be eligible for the voting. Voting with take place on February 6 and winners announced on February 10.

Late entries will not be included in the voting, but will be displayed.

Gymnastics

From January 20 to February 7, we will be doing gymnastics in Gym class. Students have been reminded to wear clothing that allows for movement and modesty. We are asking anyone with long hair to bring an elastic and remove necklaces or loose jewelry that may come off whilst performing different skills.

Students may wear gym shoes, sticky bottom socks or go barefooted while in the gym.
