Winter Weather Reminder
Happy Snowy Monday!
Living in Calgary means unpredictable weather! Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for winter weather each day and send them to school with a warm jacket, mitts and hat. Students spend time outdoors each day, including at recess and at lunchtime if the temperature is at or above -20 (with the wind chill).
Picture Day – WEDNESDAY!
Our individual and class photos will be taken on Wednesday, November 26. Students are welcome to dress their best and bring their biggest smiles!

Battery Blitz - Battery Recycling Challenge
We need your used batteries!
Rosemont School joined the Battery Blitz Contest; we are helping both our planet and a big world goal from UNESCO. By collecting and recycling used batteries, students and families learn how to take care of the Earth and keep harmful waste out of the environment. It is a fun way to work together as a school and community, learn about recycling, and make a real difference. Every battery collected helps us protect nature and shows that small actions can create a better, cleaner world for everyone. We will be competing with other school in Alberta.
The contest will run between November 1 and November 28, 2025
You can help support your child’s school by following the 3 steps of safe battery recycling.
- COLLECT: Gather your used dry cell batteries under 5 kilograms into a non-metal container.
- PROTECT: Tape over terminals of lithium, rechargeable and alkaline batteries 9V or higher.
- DROP OFF: Bring batteries to the Office.
School Council and Fundraising Society Update
Next Meeting
Our next School Council meeting will take place in the New Year on Tuesday, January 20 at 6:30 p.m. in person, at Rosemont School. We look forward to seeing you there!
Mabel’s Labels
We love our Rosemont Red Foxes shirts and hats! With so much merch that looks the same, it’s important that students’ names are in their belongings. Mabel’s Labels offers affordably priced, excellent quality, personalized labels that can be used for almost anything: water bottles, backpacks, lunch bags and containers. They also have labels specifically for clothing use that are durable and washable. They are an excellent way to ensure your child’s clothing (including their red foxes merchandise) and lunch stuff stay out of the lost and found. If you order through Rosemont School, you can help raise funds for the school as well!
Go to Mabel's Labels and click on the “Support a fundraiser” button. Scroll down the School/Organization tab and select Rosemont School - 20% commission goes to the Rosemont Fundraising Society. Thanks for your support!
Reminders
School Fees
The 2025-2026 school year fees have now been assigned to MyCBE parent accounts. Please login to your account to review your child's school fees, which will include lunch supervision fees (if your child stays at school for lunch), transportation fees (if your child rides the yellow school bus) and a student supplies fee (annual fee assigned to all students).Central fees for transportation and lunch supervision will be prorated. Families will not be charged for days when services were not provided during the labour dispute. The school supplies fee for kindergarten to Grade 6 students will remain unchanged. Payments can be made through your MyCBE account or feel free to visit the school to make a payment with your debit or credit card. Cash and cheques are no longer accepted.
Are You Concerned That You Cannot Afford to Pay School Fees?
No child is ever denied access to an education at the Calgary Board of Education due to their family’s inability to pay. The CBE offers a Central Fee Waiver which is based upon income level and covers the following central fees: Yellow School Bus Transportation, Lunch Supervision Service fee and Student Supplies fee. Please log in to your MyCBE account to complete the 2025/2026 Central Fee Waiver Application. For more information visit: Central Fee Waiver | Fees & Waivers | Registration | Calgary Board of Education (cbe.ab.ca).
