Rosemont School “Walk About”
As some of you may already know, Rosemont School is participating in the Active & Safe Routes to School program, which encourages families to choose active travel options for school commutes. This initiative promotes healthier lifestyles and works to improve safety within our school zone.
With support from Ever Active Schools and our partners at the City of Calgary, we’re identifying barriers to safe, active travel and developing solutions that fit our community. Students are also stepping up as leaders to help make this project a success.
You’re invited to join us for a School Walkabout:
Date: Tuesday, September 23, 2025
Location: Rosemont School – 19 Rosevale Dr NW, Calgary, AB T2K 1N6
Time: 3:15 PM – 4:45 PM
We’ll meet outside the front entrance and walk through the school zone during afternoon pick-up, when traffic is at its busiest. Together, we’ll observe key areas of concern, discuss what we see, and brainstorm potential solutions. Your input will help shape a report to guide future improvements.
To ease congestion, please consider parking a block or two away (Rosewood Road NW has plenty of space) and enjoy a short walk to the school.

Family Travel Survey
If you have not already done so, please complete the Family Travel Survey to let us know how your child gets to school each day! Your feedback will help us understand how families currently travel to and from school, and any safety concerns or challenges you’ve noticed.
Rosemont is Running for Terry | October 2
The excitement for our Terry Fox Run is building, and we are challenged by this year’s motto, Finish It! This week the Terry Fox Club will be handing our postcards to be sent home and working on the assembly and announcements. Rosemont students have run 1,013 km in preparation for our run, which on a map of Canada takes us just about to Regina from Terry’s stopping point near Thunder Bay. We are trying to run enough kilometres to get us to Victoria and Finish It!
We are collecting Toonies for Terry to help support cancer research up until the Run Day at the school or donate on-line and receive a tax receipt.

Remember that following the run, families are invited to join us back at Rosemont School for a picnic lunch from 11:45-12:25.
Orange Shirt Day | September 26
Please join us in wearing orange on Friday, September 26. Students will spend time learning about the history of the residential school system and will honour Indigenous people in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Monday, September 30.
